Rion smirked. "I can see why." She was a beautiful women and any wise man would fall head over heels for her.

Freddie bit her lip slightly. She already thought he was good looking. But now, he was sounding downright charming. "I need to step up my game." she said, tapping her thumb on the bar a little. "I didn't distract you."

Orion smiled and rested his chin on his hand. "Hm, Well maybe I was just the clueless one for not noticing."

In her opinion, most men were clueless. Freddie smiled a little and let out a soft laugh. "I like the sound of that more than me losing my special power." she said, teasingly.

"Believe me, you haven't lost anything," Orion smiled and swallowed down the rest of his drink. "So what do you do for a living?"

Freddie smiled and finished the beer she'd bought, sitting the bottle to the side as she listened to his question. "I play the piano." she told him. "Probably the only job in the world that I would enjoy having."

"At the country club." Freddie told him. She'd once performed as part of an orchestra, performed at competitions, had won competitions. But these days, she was just a lounge pianist. "What do you do for a living?" she asked. She didn't like talking about herself.

Rion nodded a bit. "I'm a firefighter." He finished off his drink. "Do you want another? On me."

Freddie tipped her head to the side as he said those two words that almost every woman fantasized about. Fire...fighter. She nodded her head, her mind imagining him with the uniform on, and then, without it on. "What made you become a firefighter? Was is the whole sliding down the pole thing?" she asked him.

Orion smirked lightly and laughed before ordering them each another drink. "No. But that is pretty fun. I decided I wanted to do something important with my life. Help people." Instead of hurt them like his father had.

Freddie smiled and raised her eyebrows. Being a firefighter helped a lot of people, so he must have been happy. "When I sat down, you sighed, pretty heavily." she said to him, her eyes on him, just watching him. "Did something happen today?" she asked, a look of concern in her eyes.

Orion pursed his lips and looked down at his bottle. He was gonna need more of this. "House fire. Nothing is left. Total loss. It was a family of five, three kids all under ten. They have nothing now."

Freddie frowned and sighed softly. That wasn't what she'd expected. "Oh my God." she said, calling the bartender over. "That's awful."

Orion nodded. "Yeah, it is. They've set up a donation fund for the family so hopefully they can rebuild their lives." He'd already donated twenty thousand, anonymously of course.
