Gray glanced around "I was supposed to meet a friend but he never showed" he shrugged "Oh well I guess" he offered her a crooked smile.

"Sometimes," Kate replied and yawned a little. "I work whatever they need me to. Sometimes that means I'm here alone." She hated walking out to her car at night.

Gray frowned and nodded "That seems so..." he looked around "Not right. Not to say you aren't capable but it is dangerous. Even on Cherry Grove.." he pursed his lips "When do you get off?"

Kate shrugged a little. "I don't have any other options. That's why I keep my pepper spray handy." She smiled a little and glanced at the clock. "I get off in about an hour."

Gray nodded and smiled "Then I'll stay an hour. Make sure no one gets any..not so bright ideas" he glanced over at the men again "Oh, Uhm, and don't worry I swear I'm not a creeper" he took out his badge for the firedepartment and showed her "Just want you to be safe."

Kate blushed a little. "You don't have to do that. But I do appreciate it." She looked down at his badge and smiled. "I also appricate the work you do for our town. My dad was a cop and worked closely with our fire department at times. You're all great people." Her fingers brushed over the badge softly as she thought about her father.

Kate looked over at him. "Joseph Harvard. But he passed away five years ago, so it's possible you haven't heard of him."

Gray frowned and nodded "I'm sorry about that" he said "That's rough." He was fortunate to have both of his parents, but he worried every day with his dad's heart issues.

"That sounds amazing," Kate smiled. She wished she had a connection like that. She nodded to his drink. "Want anything else?" He was pretty distracting that she almost forgot she was working.
