Kate wiped down the bar before glancing at the clock. She was beyond ready to get out of here. Catch a few hours of sleep before her next shift. She'd been in the bar way too long for her liking. She was practically here more than she was at home. Which made her rather sad sense that meant she didn't get to spend as much time with her brothers as she'd like. But hey, that was life. And rent was due in a week. She needed the overtime pay. Sighing a bit, she brushed her hair back before filling a patron's mug with more alcohol. She smiled only slightly when he winked at her before she walked away. Yeah, sure they made her wear a tight shirt that showed off her rather large assets. But that didn't mean she was interested in every guy that walked through the door.

Gray had made the plans with his friend to meet up at the bar for a drink, but something told him he would bail on him. He supposed it made sense since he'd recently seemed infatuated with some girl he hadn't met yet, but he should be supportive of him, right? He made his way to the Bar and slipped his black leather coat off and took a seat in the stool. Maybe just a scotch...no, no a light beer. He knew better than that.

Kate looked up when a new customer walked in and sat down and she smiled a bit before walking over. At least he was a pretty sight for sore eyes. "Hey there. What can I get you?" She set down her towel and leaned her hip against the counter. Man, her back hurt tonight.

Gray glanced up from the swirl on the bartop that had caught his eyes and gave a friendly smile "Just a light beer, please" he said with a nod. Ignoring a snicker from one of the men down the bar, apparently amused by his politeness.

"Sure thing," Kate said, surprised, but pleased by his politeness. She got him his drink and placed it in front of him. "Anything else I can do for you?" "I can think of a couple things you can do for me," one of the men smirked from down the bar. Kate rolled her eyes. "You wish."

Gray had been about to smile when he heard the remark, which turned the corners of his lips downward. He glanced over at the men and then back at her "No, thank you. I'm not a male alpha douchebag."

"Well you're a breath of fresh air," Kate said softly and smiled at him. The guy rolled his eyes and returned to his friends, muttered quietly.

Gray smiled a bit "I'm glad you think so" he paused "So how are things going here tonight then?" He wondered if the men down the way had been bothering her this whole time.

Kate shrugged a little as she rested her elbows on the counter. "They're my usuals so I'm used to their idiocy." She tilted her head in their direction. "He's been trying to get in my pants for months." She wrinkled her nose in distaste.

It was horrible to think someone could actually be so...disgusting. Gray knew a pig when he saw one and that man was a pig. "I'm Gray by the way" he added.

"Kate," she smiled and held out her hand to him. "I like your name. It's simple, yet not common."

He chuckled and took her hand in his, giving it a small shake "My mom just had to be different. Oh but that's not all" he smiled "My last name is Stone so my name is Gray Stone. Odd right?"

Kate laughed cheerfully. "That's great. But hey, my mom chose one of the most normal, typical names in the book. There are a million Kates."

Gray smiled softly "Well I doubt there are too many Kate's like you" he said, taking a sip of his light beer.

Kate blushed a little and laughed. "Well, aren't you Mr charming." She smiled and glanced around to make sure nobody needed anything. "You come here alone tonight?"
