Freddie sat comfortably in her chair, her back straight and one leg crossed over the other. She watched Gray, forcing herself to completely forget the feeling that she'd met him. "What book are you reading?" she asked him, as she lifted her coffee.

Gray picked up his worn book and let her see the front cover of the torn paperback, it read The Da Vinci Code. He nodded with a smile "It's a little rough, but it works for the purpose. Not exactly what you'd post on Instagram" he teased playfully. Though, she didn't seem the type.

Freddie raised her eyebrows. "What's Instagram?" Obviously, she knew what it was, but she wasn't on any of those things. Her parents didn't allow her to use them as a teenager, even now as an adult. They couldn't have any accidental inappropriate media activity. She didn't want to, really, because there would always be that one person who Googled who she was. "I'm not really into that sort of thing." she told him. "But I loved that book. The movie was alright, too."

Flashing a white smile, he nodded with agreement "Believe me, I understand. I actually used to be addicted to all forms of social media, but then things changed and I deleted almost everything" he chuckled "Wasn't a bad decision."

"Yeah, you see so many people living their lives with their eyes on the screens of their phones or on computers, it's ridiculous." Freddie said. She had a lot of opinions. She was a very opinionated person. "It's damaging to today's youth. It's honestly a problem."

Gray smiled crookedly and nodded "I agree, to a point. I also believe that we have to be adaptable in a changing world. I think we should move forward while holding onto some needed traditions. Like, playing outside" he smirked "You know, seeing the sun" he grinned now.

Freddie nodded her head, leaning forward on the table. She may have looked for meaningless hookups from time to time, but it was rare to find someone that she could have a conversation with that she wasn't completely bored by. "Being adaptable and being completely immersed are two different things." she said, pursing her lips slightly. "Playing outside in the sun should be encouraged more." She'd rarely played out in the sun when she was younger, from the point she could remember. Maybe her health would have improved faster if she had. "It's rare to find people who actually enjoy spending time off their phones and outside."
[ over on FMITS, do you want to do the aftermath of Elijah attacking Teddie? ]

[Sure!]
Gray burst into a bright grin and nodded as a thought came to mind "Actually, every summer I take some time off work, two weeks, and I take that time to go camping. I have one phone simply for emergencies and for fourteen days it's just me, myself, and nature" he nodded "It's honestly the best time I have out of the year."

(awesome! Do you want me to make a thread and tag Elijah, and you can reply whenever? - btw, I'm thinking the aftermath should probably occur the morning after, so when he becomes human again, Triston brings him home and Teddie's there - to fit in with Bell telling Mason he didn't return to the lake cabin)
Freddie smiled at Gray, thinking about how nice it would be to take two weeks, every year, to go out to the woods and just be by herself. It sounded like a dream. "My parents have a cabin in Eagle. We went there like four times when I was younger. But always during summer. It's so beautiful out there." That region of Alaska was off the grid. So off the grid, they were a normal family.

[yeah that sounds great!]
"Eagle? In Alaska?" he asked with interest "I have never bee able to go to Alaska, but at some point I'd like to. Everything I hear about it sounds incredible."

[ cool - i'll do that in a mo lol ]
Freddie nodded her head. "Yeah, in Alaska." she told him. "I know how fortunate I am to be able to see places like that, so I always try to appreciate things like that. But, oh my god, it was incredible." As she spoke about it, the memory flared in her mind and her eyes literally sparkled as she smiled.

"Well since you seem so sure, I'm definitely going to have to put Alaska on my bucketlist. Do you recommend winter, spring, or summer?" He asked, sipping his coffee.

"Go in Summer, if you're looking for the scenery." Freddie advised. "It's so different during summer than it is during winter or any other season. The rest of the year, there's snow everywhere." So she'd been told by the really cute guy who lives there year round when she was like 17.

Gray smiled "Summer it is. What type of animals have you seen there?" He asked with interest, sipping more coffee, until it was gone yet again.

"Oh a wide variety." Freddie had been obsessed with sitting at her window, watching the animals come and go. "If you pick the right time, you'll see bears and caribou. There were owls roosting in one of the trees behind our cabin. And this huge moose just took a stroll, right past our barbecue." she told him with a short laugh. She didn't often have conversations like this. She didn't know why she was, but she was enjoying it.
