intro
Emerson, who is almost always referred to by people who know him well as Ash, is a wealthy artist that lives in Cherry Grove. As a teenager, he lost his mother to Huntington’s Disease, but after her death, when he was advised to get the screening test, to determine if she’d passe it on to him, he refused. He made a deathbed promise to his mother to live his life to the fullest, to have a life that wasn’t boxed in and restricted by his illness. He then, a few years later, lost his father while he was studying at a university that specialized in art and art history. When his father died, everything the Ashford family owned was willed to Emerson, the only living heir to the Ashford estate and wealth. Now, almost eight years on, Emerson is living in Cherry Grove, where he was born and raised, supporting the local art and culture, by donating a yearly dowry to the local art gallery and history museum. And, yes, you’ve assumed correctly, he’s creating his own work to showcased but not bought. Emerson has recently began developing signs of the same illness that killed his mother, but he’s determined to push through until the bitter end. He won’t give up on his. friends
Emerson is a very laid back guy, he knows all the wealthy families around town through his father and mother’s connections. And, not to mention, he went to school with most of their children. He’s the type of guy who puts his friends first and he’d definitely have a lot of friends. He’d basically be rolling in them. I have an idea for one of his close, close friends to realize that he’s showing signs, someone who holds a lot of push and pull in his life and decisions, someone who would encourage him to go see a doctor. |
enemies
Around about the time his mother started to get ill, he started to produce some very troubling, very dark pieces of art. I sort of see him lashing out and losing a few friends, maybe even pushing one to develop a sense of hatred for him? It would make sense for it to be someone who understand the loss he experienced at the time. Also, putting this out there, he’s a wealthy man. He has no one he legally shares his wealth with. There should be a few people who target him because of his money. |
lovers
He’s no angel, despite being a nice guy and whatnot. He’ll have had plenty of girlfriends, he was in one committed relationship with a girl he’d gone to school with who had his child, and hid the truth about the baby from him. I want to have him have a few ‘hookups’ before he gets the diagnosis, his way of trying to maintain a normal life before needing someone to practically do everything for him. |
