Alexander Joseph DawsonIn desperate need for a fresh stock of books, Stella decided Uptown Books was the place to go. She was currently scanning the top shelf, happy she was tall enough to see, and ran her fingers over the spine in search of a specific author.

Alex was in search of something, anything that might interest him. He always loved reading and it was fun to read something different. As he walked around the store he bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm sorry." He said finally looking up from his book, at the tall attractive woman. Wow, why was he staring. Great, now she would definitely think he was weird.

Luckily, Stella had quickly regained her balance and prevented herself from falling over. Her eyes landed on the man who bumped into her and she couldn't deny the immediate attraction. She arched a sculpted eyebrow and gave a sideways smile "It's alright. I'll live" she said, noticing her hands were empty of books "Haven't found what you're looking for yet?"

Alex chuckled and nodded. "Nethertheless I should look where I'm going." Especially, if he was going to bump into someone like her, she was out of his league. Beautiful, slim and tall. "Yeah, kind of." She was pretty observant, he liked that. "I mean...I don't know what I'm looking for. Okay, that doesn't make sense." He grinned watching her, he had a cute boyish grin.

Stella shook her head with a smile "It makes perfect sense. You came to find a new book, without a book in mind" she shrugged "I'm doing the same thing, sort of. At least I have an author in mind" she smirked playfully.

Alex smiled and nodded. "I'm relieved. It's nice for someone to understand. Well that's one thing we have in common." He laughed placing a hand on his heart. "Ouch. I thought you were on my side." Brains and beauty, that was a dream combination he thought he'd never discover. He found a woman's intelligence very attractive.

"Oh, I don't take sides," she said biting her lip, "But if I did, well, who knows" she picked up a book by the author she'd been searching for. She smiled and glanced over at him "Maybe I can help you find something."

Alex grinned watching her. "Hmm everything." He chuckled glancing at the cover of the book she had picked up. "Ooh this might be." It was no secret, at least to his brothers and the friends he had to leave behind he was also a comic book guy.

"Sci-fi" she said with a nod "Come over here" she said, taking his arm and dragged him to a section that held more sci-fi books than you'd want to count. "Artemis is pretty good..."

Alex laughed stumbling a little when she dragged him over to another section. His eyes widened as he looked at the many books in front of him then at her. "Okay...wow." He smiled. "You like sci-fi? There's only one reasonable explanation you were abducted by aliens but they decided to let you go because you are too beautiful."
